Actress Laide Bakare Appoint As SSA TO Osun Governor, Adeleke

Popular Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has been appointed by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, as senior special assistant on entertainment, art, culture and tourism. The actress received her appointment letter in a viral video on social media on Thursday.

In response to the appointment Laide Bakare revealed this via her Instagram account on Friday, promising to give her best.

The actress went further to post her picture with Governor Adeleke, as she appreciate him for the opportunity given to her to serve the good people of Osun State and Nigeria at large.

She wrote, “Now an Honourable; “To my new boss, Governor Ademola Adeleke Imole Osun, thank you so much for the trust and opportunity to serve. I promise to deliver my best to the entire people of Osun and Nigeria at large. “It’s actually a new dawn for me starting my political career from here,” she added.

“Lot of work to be done. Shall we? The entire good people of Osun state and Nigeria at large. It’s actually a new dawn for me starting my political career from here. God bless Nigeria,” she added.

Record holds that this was not the first time actor/actress would be appointed into political office.

In 2017 similar appointment happen in kogi State seeing former of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello who appointed Mercy Johnson-Okogie, as his senior special assistant on entertainment, art and culture.

Also recall that veteran actress Hilda Dokubo was appointed as the Special Adviser to the former governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili in 2003 till the end of his tenure in 2007.

Oyeka Onwenu, a Nigerian singer On 16 September 2013, was appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Women Development.
