Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has disclosed that he and his colleague Didier Drogba are working to convince Nigerian striker Victor Osinhem to join Chelsea.
Obi said that Osinhem’s playing prowess, coupled with his goal-scoring skills, would be of great benefit to Chelsea.
Expressing further his belief in the 25-year-old player, the former Super Eagles captain stated that Osimhen possesses goal-scoring characteristics like that of Erling Haaland. stressing that he would keep contacting the Nigerian striker to convince him to make Chelsea his top priority.
Besides Mikel Obi’s attempts to convince the player, Didier Drogba, on his part, also has been persuading Osimhen of the necessity of joining the club, expressing optimism to see the player come to the club.
“We want somebody who can finish, score goals, the tap-ins. Someone like Erling Haaland. That’s something Victor Osimhen will bring to Chelsea”, Mikel Obi said according to Goal.
“I hope that Chelsea fans will finally see him come to the club. I’ll make sure I send him those text messages and calls, making sure Chelsea is his top priority!
“Didier is also speaking to him, sharing his ideas and what the club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club.”
According to report, Victor Osimhen has a €130 million release clause in his contract with Napoli with a high probability of departing Napoli this summer
Recent reports suggest that Osimhen had attracted interest from Chelsea with potential deal which involve Romelu Lukaku moving to Napoli.
